Christmas

We went to my cousins wedding last week.

We went to Disneyland...IT WAS SO FUN!!!
We rented Alice in Wonderland yesterday so that Margaret could see the movie since she had seen her in real life!

Jasmine and Aladdin are Margarets favorite Disney characters. We have heard that they are the hardest to find in Disneyland and guess what? They were the only ones that were available to take pictures and autographs with!

Margaret got this life sized Barbie from Santa Clause! I keep mistaking it for a real person! It is kind of weird!

Twilight Movie?

I have thought of something to blog about...

TWILIGHT MOVIE...

Did you like it? I thought it was cheesy...I could go on and on.

So tell me, did you like it? Really think about it...

Any Suggestions?

My goodness! It sure has been a while! I can't believe how fast--and slow--time can go by! What in the world do I post about?

Do you have any suggestions?

Another...Birthday!

This morning...it is now 6:25a.m....I woke up at an unknown time to my dad...(4:40a.m.) and wrapped his presents. Yes today is his Birthday! The only reason I had to wake up so early is because he goes to work about ten minuets to 6:00! Yeah I know...he is CRAZY!!! Well, I hope you have a good Birthday! I love you Dad!

Technology

I have not blogged in a while! Again! I was thinking how grateful that I am that we have computers with keyboards and we are allowed to backspace and preview our documents and save them without having to re-type them. I was thinking this because my dad has this old typewriter of his dads that we have at our house, and I was typing on it. It doesn't have any ink, so we cant have the full typewriting experience, but I was getting frustrated just pretending to type. There is no !!!!!!! (exclamation point)! It was exceptionally frustrating. I couldn't live like my parents did when they were my age! Handwritten assignments and typewritten if you had one! Wow!

You know how when you have a problem, you are supposed to ask your mom and dad to help you with it, well when it comes to technology, we are the ones with all the answers.

Example A:

I helped my mom set up her blog. Yes. I had to figure it out for her. She has a background--well she did--from "The cutest blog on the block" and she asked me to call my cousin and figure it out that way...yes you are welcome mom!

I don't have anymore examples that I can think of right this moment, but there are many!

"Yes I love technology!"

I think everyone does! Especially bloggers!

I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive about getting this brand new DS, but I have to also admit that I LOVE it...I was like this last year...I wasn't sure about my iPod at first, but I LOVE MY IPOD!

A Brand New Year

Today I typed up this old account that my Great-Grandma Big made for everyone. It was quite interesting to read how our CABIN was built! I wont go into detail about it, but it was quite enjoyable!

Like I mentioned in my last post, I cannot use my American Flag Gadget so...I put this on as a substitute.

I also mentioned that I was going to the New Years Fireside filming for 2009. It was a lot different than I had expected it to be.
-
We got there and the crowds were massive! We were standing about and inch from each other on the second level in the Conference Center, trying to get up the escalators. Everyone was complaining that people were shoving their way through and not being patient. We finally got into the Conference Center and we (by the way, I went with some of the Young Women from my ward) luckily got to sit on the second row on the Balcony! It was not the floor, but it was as good as the Balcony is going to get! We were even in the middle!

They said and opening prayer right as we sat down, and then Elder Holland gave a talk for about 15 minutes. Then they said a closing prayer. I was freaking out! We had come for a little talk? Not that it wasn't great and everything, but we came all of the way to Salt Lake City and then we had to go through those MASSIVE crowds? What?
-
After the prayer, this curtain came swooping and it covered the Organ Pipes and the Choir Seats. It was incredible! They projected pictures on it like it was a screen...accept cooler! It was only until then that my slow brain finally caught up with my sight, and realized that the whole Conference Center had been changed. The pulpit was not there any longer, and the seats were not there. Instead, an Orchestra--which was entirely made up of Youth, they were quite impressive I might add--was sitting on this circular platform, and around the platform, there were stairs of a sort. This guy came out and--I have been thinking about it and you could easily match this with a Barney Concert...not that I have ever been to one! MY BROTHER used to like Barney...anyway--these Youth came out and they were all introduced by the guy and then they said some stuff that I can't exactly remember. They had about 100 Youth that all came out. They sang songs and stuff. They also showed some small videos. This really doesn't sound like it was...you know...usually (no offense) church songs can be kinda cheesy. Not Hymns, like songs that are supposed to uplift you...they do...but...
-
You all probably agree...silently. I will voice this opinion for you. :) That's what I meant by Barney...a little TOO enthusiastic...you know? Who knows? Maybe they are...yes...they probably are!
-
Sister Dalton and Brother Dahlquist were there. There was a lot more to this than I have mentioned. If I did, you would be bored half to death!
-
Over the summer, I had Girls Camp and our Stake was fortunate enough to have Sister Cook from the General Young Womens Presidency come and speak to us. She talked about three things. I heard these things again last night. I have a feeling that I need to start doing them.
-
They were:

1. Pray every day
2. Read the Book of Mormon 5 minutes every day
3. Smile and be happy!

I have been told by both of these fine ladies to be 100% at this.

I am going to do that! Why don't we all?
-
The Theme for next year is: 1 Timothy 4:12

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou and example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
-
The whole thing was good! I felt the spirit a lot...I think that everyone did!
-
All in all, I have had a good...yesterday, and today!

Lookin' Forward to 2009

Ok I just noticed how bad it looks to have just taken the American Flag off of my blog just after the Election...I just want you to know that it was not because of the outcome it was simply "broken". Sorry. Like John McCain said last night, lets forget the loss and move on!

On a happier note, tonight I am going to the New Years Fireside for the 2009 Young Men/Young Womens mutual theme filming. Let me explain. That even sounded confusing to me. They are going to film this Fireside at the Conference Center tonight and then on New Years Eve, they are going to broadcast it to the whole church! What an honor that our stake was given tickets so that we could go! I am greatful for the chance!... I will have to tell you about it when I get home....which will probably not be until 10:00pm or after! Hope thats ok mom! :)

Napoleon Dynamite...FOR REAL!!

If you have ever seen Napoleon Dynamite, you will appreciate these pictures. These pictures were taken by normal people, not intending to be so funny! Take a look for yourself!

Remember the scene when Deb is taking Uncle Rico's picture and she is deciding what the background should be? Well here is her accidental twin! Marg was just posing for Scott so that he could make a story for is English class. He needed pictures, and took Margaret as an advantage!

Tell me this doesn't look like Deb!

Have you ever noticed that there is a scene at the end of the credits in Napoleon Dynamite? Well now you know.... This was unintentionally taken and to me, it looks just like when Napoleon is on the "Wild Honeymoon Stallion" and he asks Deb to take his picture. Yet again, please tell me if you don't think that this looks like a Napoleon pose.

Good Dinner....Good Grades

Today has been a good day.

Roast beef and mashed potatoes. GREAT gravy, bread, milk...what else can you ask for? I love Sunday dinner! We all have a good time sitting together and eating great meals! Thanks mom!

This must be a result of moms good cookin'! :)

I was disappointed that I got an A- in ORCHESTRA...it was only because I forgot to turn in a CONCERT REPORT!! Oh! that made me kinda mad! I am, after all, the only violist in the Intermediate Orchestra... :) Oh well! I will have to try for the 4.0 this term!

Harry Potter

Does anyone else read these books over and over and OVER again and NEVER get tired of them? I know...kinda nerdy! I really wanted to start a blog so I could talk about books and things like that...now I am re-thinking that...I guess that I can do it every so often! NO ONE can pass up a good book! Harry Potter is my favorite series! Who doesn't agree? I know only one person who does not like these books........
I can not put them down when I start to read them! My mom can testify!

Halloween Party...SICK!!!

I've got a sad story for you...

I somehow agreed to help these girls in my ward with the Ward Halloween Party. I thought that it would be fairly simple and easy.
Boy, was I wrong! We worked SO hard to get this party planned and about two days before it was to happen, we finally finished. I was so happy that we were done and soon going to DO the party and get it over with!! Little did I know that I was to get Strep Throat the night before and end up NOT GOING! I could not believe my luck! (I think that I might have seen a black cat crossing my path a couple of days previous!) :) I was not very happy! I thought about just going for ten minutes, but I didn't feel good enough! I was so sad! We were going to do this for one of our 10 hour Personal Progress Projects and we got in MORE THAN 10 HOURS! I was so proud and we were so happy! I was just not able to go!

These are pictures that my dad graciously took for me so that I could see that everything was successful!

On the Monday before Halloween, we decided to carve pumpkins! We couldn't get Margaret to smile "regularly" so this is the most "Normal" picture that we have of her by the pumpkins!
All in all, we have had a Happy Halloween!

Babysitting=Disneyland

OK today...

I babysat this family that has three children (all under the age of 5) for 10 hours! Yeah...I got paid pretty good though! $60.00! I can live forever with that kind of money! Haha!

The money--I decided--will be combined with my Birthday money. I will use this on our trip to Disneyland! We are going to my cousins Wedding in San Diego and we decided..."Hey, what the heck? Lets go to Disneyland while we are there!" I am way excited! I haven't been there for a LONG time...since I was 4-5! My little sister is especially excited!

Today was a LONG day!! ;)

Music

MUSIC!
Ok!! I LOVE the new playlist that I have added to my Blog!! It is so exciting! (If you can't figure out where the music is coming from, it is at the bottom of my blog and you can turn it off if you want.) I love music! My iPod (Probably to my mothers disliking...) is almost always on! I love it!

Jenny, Laura and Lauren inspired me to get one and I LOVE it! You should get one too!

Fun at the ARCADE!!

While at the cabin, we decided that we would like a day in Rexburg. This city is about an hour from our family cabin (which I will probably post about all too often). While everyone went to see The Dark Knight, me, my mom, Margaret, London and Hawkley went to have some fun while everyone else was watching the movie. I had decided not to see it. The scenes that my brother described to me were all a little out of my comfort zone. :) So we went to a little craft store called Porters, we did some laundry (for we have no washing machine at our cabin), and we went to the arcade inside of the movie theatre. It was more fun than you would think to spend 2 hours with "little kids" and your mom! :)

The puppets in this photo were bought while we were having fun at Porter's. They were later used as part of our family talent show!

You can tell what a fun day we had!

Cabin 2007

The year that I am remembering is June 2007. They open the cabin in May, but not many people go this early in the year. We went just as the Raines family to our cabin because--unfortunatly--no one else was able to come. It was scary! I guess the earlier in the year, the more spiders you see! I couldn't sit down or eat something without checking to make sure that there were no spiders! This didn't stop the fun though!

This is our family Cabin. We love to go to the cabin with all of our cousins! It is SOOO fun! Everyone has a fun time!

This picture is of the people who built our cabin. My Great-great grandma and grandpa Shurtleff.

This is the fireplace in our cabin...we don't have airconditioning or a heater!

I guess that you could call this the "loft"...it is usually where the kids sleep! It is so fun to be with all of your cousins!

Typical cabin morning. Stay in your pajamas all morning!

Snake River...

Almost everytime we go to our cabin, we go to Yellowstone which is about 45-60 minutes away from our cabin. This is Margaret enjoying a rather large ice cream cone!

We love to see Old Faithful! It is very pretty!

Hot springs are very fun for us to see while we are there!

I think this is one of the Finger Lakes! Beautiful isn't it?

This video is of what we saw on our way out of Yellow Stone! You don't see buffalo this close up every day!

Our cabin is the best in the whole world! (Even if it has spiders!)

Margaret Collage

This is soooo cool! Laura had a cool collage on her blog and I was determined to know how to do it. I asked her where she got it or where she did it, and she said that she had made it on Picassa! So I went to Picassa and it took me about 10 minutes to figure it out, but now I can do it too! Everyone should do this! It is sooo easy!

This collage is about my little sister Margaret. I think that I blog about her too much, but she is an easy subject! Every picture is very cute in my oppinion! Every one shows her personality!
